Kimchi rice

Serves 4

  1. 400g kimchi
  2. 2tb sugar
  3. 4tb leek
  4. 7tsp sesame oil
  5. 600g short-grain rice
  6. 600ml water
  7. 2tb soy sauce
  8. 1tsp chives
  • Cook 1-3 and 2tb sesame oil for 5 minutes and set aside to cool. Rinse rice and let drain.
  • Place rice in rice cooker or pot, top with kimchi mixture and add water. If not using rice cooker, bring to a boil, cover and boil for 6 minutes. Turn heat down to medium and cook for 6 minutes. Turn heat down to lowest setting and cook for 6-10 minutes.
  • Take off-heat and rest for 5 minutes. Add remaining 1tsp sesame oil and 7-8 and serve.
